Jamaica Art Exhibition
Invite: Wednesday 12th July, 6 – 9pm
A group of people with Learning Disabilities and Autism from Lambeth & Southwark Mencap went on an art and cultural holiday to Jamaica organised Yvonne Pennant-Taylor.
While in Jamaica they drew individual scenes of the landscape they visited.
This included scenes of the lush countryside, sandy beaches, as well as views of built up urban areas.
All the drawings have been put together in the style of an everlasting scene in the style of the 19th century French Myrioramas which were a set of drawings depicting fragments or segments of landscape that could be arranged in a multitude of different ways.
These will be on sale at the gallery for £5 each or a pack of 2 (one country scene and one beach scene) for £9.
The original 35 images will be displayed amongst other pieces in the exhibition. There will be mixed media exhibits including some on fabric, sculptures and more.
FREE Art workshops will be running from the gallery
