Ways that you can support your local charity- Lambeth Mencap

The phrase ‘In lieu of flowers’ does not mean that there will be no flowers at a funeral; rather it means the family have decided to limit the floral tributes to immediate family only and others, if they wish, are invited to make a donation to a charity.

Asking your family and friends to make donations to Lambeth Mencap instead of flowers is a wonderful way to help make a difference to the lives of Adults with Learning Disabilities.

Such gifts can be encouraged in a funeral notice using the phrase.
‘In lieu of flowers’, the family asks for contributions to be made to ‘Lambeth Mencap’
When we receive donations, we like to send a thank you to the donor and an acknowledgement to the next of kin.
We would appreciate if you could let us know that you have chosen our charity to enable us to do this.
