Larysa of Care Expertise came to Lambeth Mencap and very kindly donated £2000 to the Lambeth Mencap iPad Project.
Since its launch four year ago the project has been working with adults with a learning disability and their carers and families to allow them to access touch screen technology. Many users start off using one or two apps and slowly explore the huge range of apps available. Makaton, Skype, Facebook, simple puzzles, matching games, drawing apps are amongst the most popular.
The much needed money will go to iPad loan project which loans an iPad for one month, Jamie’s subsidised sessions at Lambeth Mencap and Chloe’s project at the Multi Activity Centre.
Most recently it has worked with Elise from Lambeth Community Team for Adults with Learning Disabilities.
NHS Guy’s and St Thomas’ Community Service.
