The First Ever Lambeth Mencap Team Triathlon
Taking part in Virgin Active Triathlon in September 2012
Helping raise lots of money for the Friends Leisure Service
Lambeth Mencap has managed to get together 5 teams to take part in the September 2012 Virgin Active Team Triathlon. That is a total of 15 people willing to do one of the legs of the triathlon, swimming 1 ½ km, cycling 40km and running 10km.
Somehow in a moment of ‘I need to shift that Christmas weight or get fit this year or it is the Olympics‘ I volunteered to be on a team.
Lambeth Mencap is a local charity that works with Adults with Learning Disabilities. Lambeth Mencap supports over 250 people with Learning Disabilities and their families every year, and provide a range of services from supported living schemes, and provision of leisure and social activities.
Lambeth Mencap are looking to raise funds in support of our Friends service as well as to help raise the profile of the charity. Funds are needed to cover costs for enabling potentially isolated people with Learning Disabilities to enjoy a whole range of leisure activities that are interesting, fun and most importantly affordable.
I need your help with raising funds to enable them to do this.
