- April first moved in with Pam 2 ½ years ago. Soon after the arrangement started, April developed her support plan with help of the scheme’s staff.
- One of April’s main aims was to one day live in her own flat. Whilst living together Pam helped April to develop her skills in cooking, cleaning, shopping and travelling in the community.
- April also completed college courses to help her prepare for living more independently.
- When the time was right, with Pam’s support, April went to visit a number of flats before she found the right one for her. Pam and her family helped April pick out all her new furniture.
- April moved in to her new flat in June, and three months on everything is going well
- April visits Pam every weekend for Sunday lunch and Pam and her family are regular visitors to the flat
