Volunteering

Who is the Project for?

The Volunteer project is for anyone who wants to support people with learning disabilities and use some of their free time to join in the activities at Lambeth Mencap. We welcome people from all sections of the community.

What does the Project do?

First of all, we meet with people who want to become volunteers – we  find out more about you, your hobbies and interests  and why you want to volunteer at Lambeth Mencap. We have to get references and a police check done, but when that’s out of the way, we find out more about what you would like to do, and then we will match you up with the activities, and you can decide how much or how little free time you have to offer. We offer regular support, supervision and training to all volunteers.

Will I get my expenses paid?

Yes, we pay expenses such a bus and train fares to volunteers
